“These images showcase instances of shipping infrastructure within the latter half of the 20th century. During these critical post war years, merchant vessel shipping is undergoing a rapid transformation with regards to volume of goods being transported, distribution channels being streamlined, stringent maritime law being written (and partially enforced) and maritime technological innovation restructuring ship labour work-forces. The onset of early large-scale container vessels and supertankers changes the logistics of the industry irreversibly.”
